Often, the fast pace of life can cause us to feel distracted, disconnected, and to neglect our connection to life. At South Street Yoga and Nutrition, we strive to quiet the mind, release inner peace, and find center with our selves. Our philosophy is centered on the belief that a sound mind in a sound body is the key to a healthy, happy existence. Each of our classes and our nutritional programs are designed with this philosophy in mind.
Our primary class offering is Vinyasa Yoga. In Vinyasa, the poses are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with the breath. The continual movements, from one pose to another, gives you cardiovascular benefits, can increase muscle strength, endurance and flexibility, and reduce levels of stress. Vinyasa yoga offers much diversity. The pace can vary and there is no one particular sequence that instructors must follow. The name vinyasa translates as "variations within parameters." So, if one class doesn’t work for you, try another, until you find one that you are comfortable with.
Additionally, we offer a variety of specialty classes classes, yin, restorative, chair yoga, yoga for high school students, meditation and absolute beginners classes. We host workshops on the weekends, offer free community classes and offer a monthly book club.
Our nutrition is based on a holistic approach where we try to get to the root of what is causing the "dis-ease" We can help you meet your dietary goals; weight loss, reduction of disease symptoms, development of a healthier cache of recipes and lifestyle re-vamp. We offer meal planning services and accept most major insurances for nutritional consults.
Most importantly our studio is a comfortable welcoming space to enrich or begin your yoga practice or your nutritional journey.
