Frequently Asked Questions

DO I NEED A RESERVATION?

No, however you can always make one so you can guarantee a spot.

WHERE DO I PARK?

We have a lot in the back of the building and there is free 2 hour parking on the street. Please make sure you only

park in spots designated for SSYN

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR CLASS?

15 minutes prior to the start of class to check in, meet one of our staff members and get comfortable in the studio.

WHAT SHOULD I EAT OR DRINK BEFORE CLASS?

As before any workout keep it light.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO CLASS?

Just yourself and a yoga mat if you have one. Some people also like to bring a water bottle and a towel

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

Wear comfortable workout clothes. Try and avoid anything overly baggy as it does get in your way

WHAT CLASS OR CLASSES SHOULD I START WITH?

Yoga 1 and Yoga 3 classes are geared toward beginners. You can also try the Yin Yoga or Restorative Yoga, Stretch & Flex or Friday night Zen which are very different to a Flow class but accessible to most.  

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR 1ST CLASS?

Expect a wonderful experience. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable and will guide you.  There is no judgment and everyone moves at their own pace. Listen to your body. You can always rest on your mat until you are ready to join in again.

I WANT TO START YOGA BUT I AM UNCOMFORTABLE COMING TO A CLASS.

A couple of times a year we offer a fundamentals series.  That is a true beginners workshop, you can look for these on our schedule. Alternatively we have private lessons available that will allow you to work one on one with a teacher.  

YOGA ETIQUETTE

Cell phones off. Shoes and coats in the hall and place any valuables into the studio cubicles. Please place your props as you found them. If the class has begun please wait until you are invited in and please be on time.

LITTLE YOGI's

Children over 16 welcomed. Children 12-16 welcomed with an adult and children under 12 welcomed at some classes with prior notice. All who attend are required to pay for a class session, We are not able to watch any children in the office area while you practice.

Do I need to be flexible

to practice Yoga? 

NO! We practice yoga to become more flexible in our bodies and our

minds
