A welcoming community studio

Picture
We strive to offer a vibe that makes every feel comfortable and connected.
Often, the fast pace of life can cause us to feel distracted, disconnected. At South Street Yoga and Nutrition, we quiet the mind, release inner peace, and find center with our selves.
Our primary class offering is Vinyasa Yoga. In Vinyasa, the poses are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with the breath. The continual movements, from one pose to another, gives you cardiovascular benefits, can increase muscle strength, endurance and flexibility, and reduce levels of stress.
Vinyasa yoga offers much diversity. The pace can vary and there is no one particular sequence that instructors must follow. The name vinyasa translates as "variations within parameters."  So, if one class doesn’t work for you, try another, until you find one that you are comfortable with.

Additionally, we offer a variety of specialty classes classes, yin, restorative, kundalini, meditation and absolute beginners classes.
We host workshops on the weekends, offer free community classes and private lessons to help meet your specific needs.

Our nutrition is based on a holistic approach where we try to get to the root of what is causing the "dis-ease" We can help you meet your dietary goals; weight loss, reduction of disease symptoms, development of  a healthier cache of recipes and lifestyle re-vamp.

We welcome you to our community!

All Experience Classes

These classes are accessible to most yogis
Level 1
Open to students who want guidance through the poses and modifications. Great class for beginning
students or someone who enjoys a gentler class.
Foundations
This class will focus on the basic principles of yoga--breath, movement, meditation.
The foundational poses that make up a typical class will be taught with an emphasis on optimal
alignment. Props and modifications will be utilized to complement the yoga experience. Open to all--
from very new beginners to more experienced practitioners who want to return to the basics.
Stretch & Flex
This is an active stretch class. We will work toward increasing our flexibility while relaxing our minds
and our muscles. Yin, Restorative and breath work are a part of this class
Restorative Yoga
This class deeply relaxes the body, stills the mind, and brings ease to the breath. You explore poses with
the aid of props such as blocks, blankets and bolsters that allow you the support to comfortably relax
into the poses.
Yin Yoga
Yin is a slow practice, and it emphasizes work on the tendons, ligaments, and fascia in your muscles. In
Yin you find the stretch based on the target area and hold it, only moving to find a deeper stretch. Yin
Yoga helps with joint and muscle pain, releases tension, increases flexibility and circulation, and helps
your body recover faster from any type of exercise. These postures are standing, seated or laying down
and are held from 2-5 minutes each.
Private Lessons
If you are new to a practice, recovering from an injury or just want to spend time working on a a specific goal or concern this is a great option.
